Aphrodisiac foods

Abstract

There are many foods of love and they are considered effective in popular tradition and in ancient medicines for their benefits on sexual activity. Only some have been recognized for their effectiveness even by modern scientific research. For millennia people have been struggling to find "potions" or foods that attract the object of their love, or that ignite desire, dissolve inhibitions or increase sexual potency. It must be clear that the "Viagra" food does not exist. There are no foods or foods that can quickly cause strong excitement or increase one's sexual potency.  Despite this, in many traditions and cultures aphrodisiac qualities are attributed to many foods. Many foods can be considered erotic because they stimulate the imagination and the senses, both because they have known gastronomic properties, and because symbolic, personal or cultural meanings are attributed to them. A recipe can be aphrodisiac because it stimulates the senses of smell, sight and taste. The shape, color, aroma, flavor and consistency of a dish contribute to making it more or less sensual. Some discoveries have been made about the extra-nutritional effects of foods that confirm a link between diet and sexual activity.
